Simple lang, MOVE FORWARD AND DO MORE SIMPLE ACTS!

Here are the simple acts your have started doing to save the planet from climate change:

  • You now SWITCH OFF all your appliances, lights, lamps, computers and other equipment when they are not in use.
  • You now UNPLUG your TV, mobile phone chargers, microwave ovens, DVD/VCD players, computers, and all your other appliances to avoid the energy-guzzling standby mode.
  • You now LIGHT UP EFFICIENTLY by using energy efficient lighting systems such as CFL bulbs and opening your curtains and windows to invite more sunlight to your rooms
  • You have SPREAD THE WORD and encouraged at least 5 of your friends to pledge for the planet and be energy-conscious like you
  • You are now ENERGY CONSCIOUS AT WORK/SCHOOL by practicing the simple acts of unplugging, switching off and you’ve probably encouraged your whole office and school to replace your incandescent bulbs to CFLs.
  • You are now ENERGY CONSCIOUS AT HOME by opening your windows to let natural air circulate in your house. You have also started using your refrigerator wisely.

So now, Greenpeace challenges you to move forward and continue this pledge for the planet. There are still numerous things that you can do for the planet…
SIMPLE LANG…
…segregate trash – to minimize waste management processes
…bring your own baon or reusable containers when you buy food – you’ll lessen the production and waste of the food wrappers (especially if they’re made of non-biodegradable materials such as plastic or sytrofoam)
…travel efficiently – avoid the one-car, one-person practice
…continue spreading the word and expand to your own expertise and fields of interest!
A teacher? Perhaps you can lead your students in becoming more energy-conscious!
An architect? Maybe you can start designing houses that are more climate-friendly!

Over the years, Greenpeace has been working against climate change, fighting coal and other causes. Now it’s your turn.

Support Greenpeace in fighting this grave threat to our planet.

Simple lang, volunteer, support, take action!

Stop Climate Change

(Text from GreenPeace Asia)

Global Warming is a Catastrophe Coming! We already know the causes - humankind's unfettered burning of fossil fuels like coal, oil and gas. We already know some of the impacts - the melting of polar ice caps, rising oceans, severe droughts, the spread of pestilence, massive flooding, coral bleaching and surging storms. We already know who will be hit hardest - coastal countries, island nations, and underdeveloped regions like Southeast Asia.

For years we have been releasing more and more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels like, coal, gas and oil. This has greatly increased world's natural blanket, leading to rising global temperatures, and deadly and unpredictable changing climates. Greenpeace believes that only a systematic and drastic reduction of greenhouse gas emissions can prevent climate change from wreaking more damage to the earth's ecosystems and its peoples.

As an international, global organization, Greenpeace focuses its attention on influencing both the public and policymakers of the dangers behind the unrestricted mining and use of fossil fuels. As a regional organization, Greenpeace Southeast Asia focuses on bearing witness to the impacts of global warming, and increasing public awareness of the problems it poses. Greenpeace SEA also seeks to effect changes in the direction of the region's energy policies for the future - moving from fossil fuel dependency towards embracing renewable, clean and sustainable sources of energy.

Asia Clean Energy Now

The Climate and Energy Campaign's tactic is to confront the challenges posed by the fossil fuel industry - in particular, coal-fired power plants and nuclear-based energy - while, at the same time, articulating and pushing for solutions to fossil fuel dependency. For instance, Greenpeace SEA promotes policies and projects that favor energy generated by wind and solar power, and advocates for energy efficient alternatives.

URGENT: Greenpeace whale activists arrested in Japan

Two Greenpeace activists who exposed a whale meat embezzlement fraud in Japan -- Junichi Sato and Toru Suzuki -- have been themselves arrested -- for allegedly stealing the whale meat that they turned over to police as evidence.

Demand the Japanese government free the activists

This is the backlash. We've uncovered a scandal involving powerful forces in the Japanese government that benefit from whaling, and it's not surprising they are striking back.

What is surprising is that these activists, who are innocent of any crime, would be arrested for returning whale meat that was stolen from Japanese taxpayers. Theirs are, to date, the only arrests that have been made in the Tokyo public prosecutor's investigation into the embezzlement we documented of millions of yen worth of whale meat.

This was not a police action -- it was an intimidation tactic by the government agencies responsible for whaling -- and the kind of harassment of whistleblowers that a modern democracy should not allow. Our first news that an arrest was imminent came from Japanese television stations. Someone leaked the information to ensure images of Greenpeace activists in handcuffs appeared on news reports in Japan.

More than 40 police officer raided our offices and the homes of the activists, and spent 10 hours seizing cell phones, documents, and computers, despite the fact that we had documented every step of how we obtained the whale meat, turned the full dossier over with the evidence, and made ourselves available to police to help with the investigation at any time. A simple phone call could have brought Junichi and Toru to the police station. Instead, the government made a public spectacle of shutting Greenpeace down.

Don't let Japan shut down the truth. Demand the release of Junichi and Toru and demand an end to the whaling programme in Japan. The corruption of a few bureaucrats who profit from whaling should not be an excuse for harassing those who have exposed it. The domestic and international shame which this scandal is bringing on the Japanese agencies responsible for whaling is just one more reason that Japan should stop its sham scientific whaling programme in the Southern Ocean forever.

Please, take action now and pass this message along to your friends. Let's get Junichi and Toru back with their families, and demand the real criminals go to jail.

Thank you,

The Greenpeace whale team

David Cook........

I had fallen in love with David Cook when I first time ever I saw him singing Billie Jean. Since I didn't watch American Idol from the beginning, so I missed the chance of knowing him......But it really didn't matter b'coz it's never too late to idolize and like someone....... David Cook is someone who could simple sing the menu from the restaurant and it will sound great...!!! Every songs he sang during American Idol were perfect for him......It sounded so good, I kept it playing over, and over again in my mp3........I will never get tired of hearing his great voice. Instead my ring tone is DC's version of 'Everything I do, I do it for you'. I read in his fan-site, that someone wrote that the winning song (Time of My Life) was a cheesy song but David Cook made it so good it didn't sound cheesy.....talked about his influences in the music arena......^_^someone even say that DC is the new image of rock music since Bon Jovi and Daughtry is getting old (strongly agree with this statement)....!!! David Cook is simply like a new phenomena to the music industry. He is so honest, humble, arrogant-in-his-own-way-but-still-look-innocent. So, anyone out there who love DC as much as I do, lets support his fan-site by clicking here.
Enjoy the time of David Cook's life......^_^

Beaded Bracelet ^_^

When I got back home early June for my newborn niece's akikah...I had learned something interesting from my 9-11 years old nieces. That interesting thing was making beaded bracelets....!!!! Imagined, kids that age knew how to make those bracelet.....and it kinda cute as well.....So, I took the opportunity to learn making beaded bracelet so I could sold them later.....It was very easy to make the bracelet and I believed that most people can even make them, it just a matter of your diligence/creativity or not....Even my nephews were able to make them...A day after, I asked my sister to buy the beads for me so I could made them once I returned to KL.....I got so hooked up with the things for a while......Since I have make any promotion at all, I hadn't be able to sell any of those....which was quite frustrating........ However, I did had a few of my friends wanted me to make those bracelets for them. I was so excited. Unluckily, due to limited beaded and limited colour that I had, those bracelets making had to halt just for a while. So, I decided to search online for the beaded bracelet, just to took some ideas, playing with the ideas.......Then, i googled for beaded bracelet and I found a website that sold beads and crystals online...........After choosing the crystal beads that I wanted, I made payment to the owner of the website and 2 days later, I got my crystal beads....!!!! So, cool...!!! I just couldn't wait to go home and making bracelets..........Until now, these were the bracelet that I am able to make and satisfy with the quality............
